Around the years 1238-1408, Thailand capital was located at Sukhothai. During that time, Sukothai often fought with its neighbour. Skill such as kicking, kneeing, punching and elbowing were developed. So, MuayThai was created. Muay Thai was a higher art and was a part of royal curriculum. According to some resource, this era is Sukothai era. From era to era, MuayThai is used as self-defense and teached in military. On King Narai Era (1604 - 1690), MuayThai became a profesional sport. Even on King Prachao Sua Era (1697 - 1709), King himself gone for fight on the arena and win after 3 good fighters, they were Nai Klan Madtai (killing fist), Nai Yai Madlek (iron fist), and Nai Lek Madnak (hard fist). Pre-Fight Ritual When entering the ring, fighter use Mongkon on their head and Pong Malai around their necks. Mongkon is represent the gym, it is essentially a crown. Fighter never touch the mongkon, mongkon places and remove by their Kru (trainer). Different gym will have different Mongkon,

Rakrae Hak Khan

This Kon Muay is used to defend against the straight punch which threw to face by swinging the arm to wipe the punch and trapping the immure wrist with the armpit then striking the palm to the elbow.

The attacker walks in and throws the right punch to the defensive’s face while holding on the left-hand guard.

The defensive steps forwards obliquely the weight on the right foot and sways the body to block the attacker’s arm with the left arm then traps the inner wrist with the armpit and throws up the left palm to the elbow joint in order to break the arm.
